Lab coat- For my chemistry practical’s

I am studying Masters of Chemistry in one of the most prestigious universities. For practicals, it is compulsory to wear lab coat. In the Chemistry practicals, I have to handle numerous chemicals both in concentrated and diluted form. These chemicals on direct exposure to skin or clothes can prove to be extremely dangerous and chemicals like Sulphuric acid in concentrated form are very much capable of burning the clothes and skin. Therefore, we were always advised to wear cotton clothes as they are safer than other fabric clothes. For extra protection we were supposed to wear lab coats made of cotton fibers.
